Tuesday, September 16th was like a fieldtrip for nearly 1,500
workers in our community. Somerset County United Way's 12th annual
Day Of Caring brought a record number of employees away from their
desk and out into our community to participate in over 130 service
projects.
This year, United Way was pleased to coordinate the event with
support from caring community sponsors Aventis Pharmaceuticals,
Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical, Phillips-Van
Heusen Corporation and Wegmans Food Market.
Groups from the following companies also participated: AT&T,
BEA Systems, Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, ConvaTec, Double
Tree Hotel and Executive Meeting Center (in partnership with Live
Oaks Landscapers, Barlett Tree Service, and Mulch Blowers Inc.),
Dow Chemical Company, EDS, Ethicon Inc., Fedders Corporation,
FedEx, First Baptist Community Development Corporation, Fireman's
Fund Insurance Company, Somerset County Association of Young Professionals,
Household International, Johnson & Johnson NCS, Johnson &
Johnson PRD, National Starch & Chemical Company, Ortho BioTech
Products, Parkway Insurance, Pfizer, PSGA, Raritan Valley Community
College Nursing Program and the Somerset County United Way Board
of Trustees.
